BIOGRAFIA
Inizia la sua carriera negli Anni Ottanta con La pelle di Liliana Cavani dove è assistente arredatrice. Collaborando con Dante Ferretti, in un sodalizio che dura da anni, comincia a lavorare con registi come Federico Fellini per E la nave va, Dino Risi per Dagobert e Franco Brusati per Lo zio indegno. Negli stessi anni arrivano i lavori internazionali con Il nome della rosa di Jean- Jacques Annaud e Le avventure del Barone di Münchausen di Terry Gilliam. Alternandosi tra l’Italia e l’estero, negli Anni Novanta collabora con Franco Zeffirelli in Amleto e Neil Jordan in Intervista col vampiro, fino ad arrivare a Martin Scorsese e al primo Oscar per The Aviator, nel 2005. Riceve otto candidature agli Oscar e altri due vinti con Sweeney Todd di Tim Burton, e Hugo Cabret di Martin Scorsese, per il quale riceve anche il premio BAFTA. I suoi ultimi lavori sono Cinderella di Kenneth Branagh e Silence di Scorsese. Fra le ultime opere liriche ricordiamo la trilogia di Mozart di G. Ferrara: Così fan tutte, Le nozze di Figaro, Don Giovanni.
BIOGRAPHY
She began her career as assistantset decorator in the '80 with La pelle by Liliana Cavani. She started working with Dante Ferretti, in a partnership that has lasted for years, and she began working with directors such as Federico Fellini for the movie E la nave va, Dino Risi for Dagobert and Franco Brusati for Lo zio indegno. In the same years she worked on international films: Il nome della rosa by Jean-Jacques Annaud and Le avventure del Barone di Münchausen by Terry Gilliam. Moving between Italy and abroad, in the Nineties she collaborated with Franco Zeffirelli for Amleto and Neil Jordan for Interview with the Vampire: The Vampire Chronicles, and then with Martin Scorsese, winning an Oscar for The Aviator, in 2005. She received eight nominations for the Oscars and she won two more with Tim Burton's Sweeney Todd, and Martin Scorsese's Hugo Cabret, for which she also received the BAFTA award. Her latest works are: Cinderella by Kenneth Branagh and Silence by Scorsese. Last works in the Opera House: the trilogy of Mozart by G. Ferrara: Così fan tutte, Le nozze di Figaro, Don Giovanni.
